Settings Key
Allows the user to adjust the display brightness, select wallpapers (if available), and set the ringtone. Configuration can be performed either automatically or manually for Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP), Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP), Cisco Unified Communications Manager, and backup Cisco Unified Communications Manager instances. Other settings available in the submenu include Device Configuration, Security Configuration, and Model Information.

Ethernet Switch
Cisco's internal 2-port Ethernet switch enables direct connection to a 10/100/1000 BASE-T Ethernet network via an RJ-45 interface, providing single LAN connectivity for the phone or a localized PC. The system administrator can assign separate VLANs (802.1Q) for the PC and phone for enhanced security and reliability of voice and data traffic.
Headset connection
The headset connection eliminates the need for a separate headphone amplifier and the handset can remain in the cradle.
Volume Control
Offers easy decibel level adjustments for the speakerphone, handset, headset, and ringer. The handset is hearing aid compatible.
Adjustable foot stand
The stand is adjustable from flat to 60 degrees to provide optimal viewing of the display and convenient operation of all buttons and knobs. The foot stand is keyed to conform to standard wall jack configurations for wall mounting. Optional wall mounts are also available.
Expansion Module Support
An optional add-on module, the Cisco Unified IP Phone Expansion Module 7914, provides 14 additional keys for programming phone numbers or speed dial numbers. Up to two expansion modules can be used.
