The undershirt is a turtleneck undershirt with long sleeves and fabric cuffs. The underwear is made of a silk-modacrylic/rayon blend. The fabric is quick-drying, moisture-wicking, and has antimicrobial properties.
They provide improved moisture management and comfort when worn in moderate to cold weather environments. They also offer FR protection when needed. The FR Silkweight baselayer can be worn as part of the Mountain Cold Weather Clothing System (MCWCS) or Flame Resistance Organizational Gear (FROG). Replaces Desert Tan models.
