The third generation of the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS) in the field of functional underwear is the result of a complete revision of the previous cold weather clothing systems in the US armed forces.
Based on the fabric layering systems used by professional mountaineers, the GEN-III ECWCS offers a new multi-layer insulation system that is adaptable to any climate and user requirement.
Each of the ECWCS components fits and functions independently, but when worn as part of a system, it provides and fulfills the optimal conditions for use in cold outdoor activities.
